Morrison Creek Headwaters Salmon Walk
November 3 @ 9:45 am – 12:00 pm
The rains have come and so have the salmon. Comox Valley Land Trust (CVLT) along with Morrison Creek Stream Keepers are hosting a salmon walk in the Morrison Creek Watershed, one of the most productive salmon streams on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Four species of salmon spawn in the Morrison Creek Watershed: pinks, chinook, chum and coho.
CVLT has protected most of the headwaters of Morrison Creek, with the purchase of 728 acres in 2023. Coho salmon, the last to arrive of the four species, spawn in the headwaters of Morrison Creek, and typically arrive there early November. This walk will be an exploration of the headwaters area of Morrison Creek.
