Puntledge Forest Bog Walk

CVLT will be hosting a bog walk in the recently protected section of the Puntledge Forest to learn about bog ecosystems and the plants that inhabit them, such as Labrador tea, western bog laurel, lodgepole pine, skunk cabbage and sphagnum mosses.

Beaufort Old Growth Walk – Waterloo Creek

Beaufort Watershed Stewards invite you to explore the Waterloo Creek area and its rare, majestic, old forest. There will be two walks: one from 9:45-11:30 AM and the next from 12:45-2:30 PM.

Tsolum River Restoration Society invites you to a family-friendly guided nature walk at One Spot trail in Merville. Come learn about this second growth forest. We will walk along a portion of One Spot Trail from the parking lot to Spike Road Park and back!

Family Watershed Day

Family Watershed Day is an interactive and educational event focused on watershed health and awareness in celebration of World Rivers Day. Members of the Comox Valley Conservation Partnership will be sharing information, activities, and games all on the theme of local watersheds. This free event will take place at the south end of Mansfield Drive next to the Courtenay Riverway Heritage Walk from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, September 22.

Courtenay Air Park Nature Walk

Take this opportunity to join Comox Valley Nature member Kathie Woodley for a walk around the Courtenay River Airpark. Learn about its history and how the town’s sewage lagoon has become one of the most popular walking spots in the Comox Valley. Observe our native plants and birds which make a home here in the estuary. See some of the restoration work in progress.
